Josey-Mitchell Youth Lightning Lightspeed — Circle Y
Description Specifications What’s the #1 challenge young barrel racers face? Being thrown forward during a run. The Martha Josey–Mitchell Youth Lightning Lightspeed Barrel Saddle was built to fix that. Forward-hung fenders help keep a young rider’s feet underneath them, encouraging proper position and preventing them from tipping forward over the horse. The result is a more balanced ride and quicker development of a confident, correct seat. Designed specifically for youth competitors, the 10″ and 12″ seats feature a shorter horn, youth-sized fenders and stirrups, plus a tall 9″ swell and 5″ cantle for a deep, secure feel when speed and precision matter most. The 3-Way Rigging system evenly distributes pressure across the horse’s back, eliminating the need for a rear cinch while improving comfort and stability. Lightweight leather and synthetic skirting reduce bulk and overall weight without sacrificing strength or performance. Finished with a turquoise suede seat, purple and turquoise buckstitch, and turquoise lightning bolt conchos, this saddle brings eye-catching style to match its performance—guaranteed to make your little cowgirl feel fast in the arena. All saddles are handmade in Yoakum, Texas. Developed by Martha Josey and Ty Mitchell after years of training riders of all ages, the Youth Lightning Lightspeed is a lightweight, performance-driven saddle built to help young riders stay secure, ride balanced, and build a strong foundation for winning barrel runs. Martha Josey is a living legend within barrel racing through her competitive accomplishments and also through her highly sought-after year-round clinics. She is an 11-Time NFR Qualifier Barrel Racer, NFR World Champion 1980, WPRA and NBHA Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist Barrel Racer, and Clinician based in Marshall, Texas.
